While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

If the owner wants it reopened, send me an e-mail and I’ll be happy to unarchive the cache listing if it still satisfies the requirement/guidelines.

En cache som bringer deg nær et spennende stykke krigshistorie.

This cache brings you close to a piece of recent war history.

Cachen befinner seg nær stedet hvor Wehrmacht hadde sitt hovedkvarter under 2. verdenskrig. Osllo Handelsgym i Parkveien var nybygd og skulle innvies i august 1945. Ved okkupasjonen 9. april bodde generalstaben på KNA-hotellet tvers over gaten for dette praktfulle nybygget. Bygget ble annektert og huset Wehrmacht helt frem til mai 1945. Under skolegården ble det anlagt et solid bunkeranlegg i 2 etasjer med kommunikasjonssentral, sykestuer og mye mer. Historien vil også ha det til at denne bunkeren var forbundet med tilsvarende bunker under KNA-hotellet og videre med et sinnrikt tunnelsystem til Victoria Terrasse. Fra februar 1945 til kapitulasjonen i mai hadde Terboven sitt hovedkvarter i bunkeren, som etter datidens standard var bombesikker. Inntil mars 2000 var bunkeranlegget klassifisert som militært område. Da fikk skolen overrakt nøklene. De har med god hjelp fra Hjemmefrontmuseet innredet et museum i bunkeren. På henvendelse til skolens administrasjon kan både små og store grupper få adgang og omvisning i anlegget.

Oslo Handelsgym was not even inaugurated in May 1945 when the German Nazi regime occupied Norway. Wehrmacht established their Norwegian headquarter in the building, organising their massive 350.000 soldiers in Norway. Under the school yard they constructed a 2 storey bunker with communication room, hospital and much more. The last months of the occupation mr Terboven, the highest ranking German in Norway moved his office from the Parliament to the bunker. The bunker remained military territory untill spring 2000. Then the school administration got the keys. They have since established a museum with artefacts from the Home resistance museum and private donors. Access to the museum can be obtained for smaller or larger groups by contacting the school administration.
