Geocache Description:

Old Pueblo 50 Mile Endurance Run Cave Creek Aid Station.  The first Saturday of March each year, around 200 runners run a 50 mile loop in the Santa Rita Mountains of southern Arizona, starting and finishing at nearby Kentucky Camp.  The Endurance Run uses the Arizona Trail in conjunction with several other forest service roads and trails to complete the loop.

This area has a lot of year-round outdoor activities, including OHV, equine, mountain biking, hiking/running, camping and swimming (in season).

The cache is in the general vicinity of OP50 Cave Creek Aid Station.  Cache owner and other radio operators provide communications support for the race each year, while other volunteers provide sustenance & medical assistance to runners.  The cache is in an area of Alligator Juniper, as well as riparian vegetation in and around the creek.  It is well off the FR intersection to prevent high muggle activity.

If there is a barbed-wire fence between you and the cache, please refer to the parking area waypoint and begin your search from there.
