Geocache Description:

This water reservoir in Hong Kong's New Territories was built between 1933 and 1937 to meet the increasing demand for fresh water due to the urbanisation of Kowloon. The capacity is three billion gallons (ca. 11 billion liters) and the main dam is 280 feet (85 meters) high.

At this place, two of Hong Kong's famous hiking trails meet each other: Maclehose trail (section 7) and Wilson trail (end of section 6 and start of section 7). The huge bellmouth overflow prevents the reservoir from flowing over.
