This is a part of series for fellow geocachers to find caches throughout Loxton's district. This is an easy way for a tourist to come and explore Loxton. Loxton is a very friendly town which has a significant German heritage. The names of the locals reflect this.
By studying the high river levels on the trunk of this magnificent old river red gum, you can begin to understand the cycles and impact of the Murray River system.
Unfortunately my first attempt at placing this cache resulted in repeated muggling after only a short period of time. I have therefore made this an easy multi, with the hide only a short walk away. Please bring your own pencil. PLEASE PUT IT BACK WHERE IT WAS AND HIDE IT!
The coordinates for the cache hide can be found using these clues, found on the Tree:
In one decade in the last Millenium, there were high water levels 4 years in a row. The first year of the decade is indicated by 19AB.
For the other part of the coordinates, add together the third highest water level 19?? + the forth highest 19?? and then take away 20 = CD
S 34° 26.ABA E 140° 33.BCD
