There is a trail that leads off into the woods that leaves the road at about N 43' 17.093 W 073' 36.223. From here you can walk the trail to a series of new caches that I put out today.
At a recent Geo-Breakfast, BillVP913 & GeoFrenzie handed out 19 purple pill bottles to those who attended. The plan was for the rest of us to all hide these bottles and thus create a series of 20 total caches for a "Purple" series we can all cash in on. The rule was that it had to stay purple, and had to have "purple" in the name.
This is my contribution to the "Purple" series... I know it took a little while to get this one out, but I had to decorate the bottle a little. I had to think of what BillVP might like, so an Egyptian theme came to mind. I have also been on a kick lately to create some different style caches. If you look at the atributes, you will see that "teamwork is required" for this one. It might be able to be done solo, but with a partner should make it easier, at least the way I envisioned it. Then again Geocachers are notoriously clever and inventive people... Once at GZ, finding the Purple Scarab shouldn't be too difficult, but retreaving it should be the trickier part. If you get stumped, there are some tools to help about 25' away.
No need to go down the slope.
UPDATE: The accessibility of this area recently came into question and I temporarily disabled all of my caches here. I recently spoke with Mr. Jesse Fish, the Supt. of the Department Water for the Town of Moreau. He informed me this area is all owned by the Town of Moreau and is accessible to the public, thus I have reactivated these caches. With that in mind, please avoid any area that is specifically listed as posted by National Grid and generally be respectful of the area. Thanks!
