Behind the Old Fort Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

IgnotusPeverell: Greetings. I'm IgnotusPeverell, one of the volunteer reviewers for geocaches submitted to Geocaching.com.

I can't find any recent responses from HauberkTheOld about maintaining this cache which makes it appear they are either unwilling or unable to maintain this geocache. Cache maintenance includes: replacing broken or missing containers, replacing full or wet logs, updating any changes to the text, updating coordinates, removing the needs maintenance attributes, enabling the listing, and more. Check out all of a geocache owner's responsibilities here. This cache is being archived, and removed from the active cache listings.

"If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance, it will not be unarchived."

Thanks for your understanding,

Geocache Description:

This cache was placed along one of the many trails in the park and behind the old "Fort Uncompahgre"   The trail is wide, easy to walk and is well maintained by park crews.  The cache should be available year-round. Congrats to clazyk and oldravens for the FTF!

The City of Delta website states this: "Fort Uncompahgre was established as a fur trading post in 1828 by Antoine Robidoux, near the present site of Delta, Colorado.
The Fort has come to life again as the City of Delta funds this unique museum that is located at the entrance to the Confluence Park complex."
Other information indicates that the museum has been closed with no information on when it might reopen. History buffs can learn about the "real" Fort Uncompahgre here:  http://www.mman.us/fortuncompahgre.htm

On this fine March day in 2013 all is silent in the Museum Grounds.  Perhaps one day soon there will be activity here again!
Watch out for muggles who walk this trail.
