Scarlet was a beautiful dog. She was a kind gentle pet, who loved long walks, and playing with her family. She also loved her tennis balls, and could skin a ball in a matter of minutes, systematically removing every last speck of fluff, and then cracking the ball open, and moving on to the next. She loved her tennis balls. Just last Christmas, when we were visiting the Timber family, we watched as Scarlet sniffed her present out from under the tree, and unwrapped it, to reveal her present. Her sniffer knew, that present was for her, and of course it was her favourite toy.
