Geocache Description:

Congratulations to Slapheadyeti for the First to find.

The sandy beach at Greatstone is quite flat and stretches for over two miles. Given the flatness of the beach and a  maximum tidal range of nearly 7 metres, the difference between high tides and low tide can be almost ½  mile.

It provides safe sea bathing in the haven of Romney Bay and miles of fine sand to build all the castles you want, play beach sports, have a swim in the sea or just laze around.

Dogs are allowed on the beach anytime from 1 October to 30  April each year. Please clean up after your dog and use the many litter bins available,

From 1 May to 30 September dogs are banned from the areas of beach, south from the footpath from the car park nearest to the toilets (north end) to the footpath opposite to Seaview Road, some 250 yards before the Romney Sands Hoilday Park. There are appropriate signs adjacent to both footpaths.

There are public toilets adjacent to the car park in The Parade. They are open 8am to 7pm from 1 April  to 30 September, and 8am to 5pm from 1 October to 31 March.
