Geocache Description:

Diamond seemed like it would be over the top so we've added a Cubic Zirconia to the Jewel, Gem and Trinket already at Anderson Pond. This multi-cache focuses on the Spence Trail.

(see long description)

This multi-cache will take you on a tour of the second longest (officially marked) trail at the Anderson Pond recreation area and ends with a 50-cal side opening ammo can. Loaded up with kid friendly items but we're sorry there is no great FTF prize. We did deposit a brand new trackable in honor of our son's birthday!

The trail starts out wide and flat for this first one-third before narrowing and adding some more curves and elevation changes on the other two-thirds. I've ridden it on a mountain bike following my five year old on his bike and we've also done the loop with a double jogging stroller. I wouldn't recommend a road bike or normal stroller. The 3 waypoints are marked in the style of Anderson Gem (GC45D5P) although I think these ones should be a little easier to find (no need to open anything at the waypoints). Coords jump around a lot in these woods so, if needed, the hint should really narrow down the search area (and make it less than a 2.5 for difficulty). No real bushwhacking is required, but feel free to make it harder than necessary, we certainly have done that on a few finds in the area. Kids 4 years and older should have no trouble finding the final, but may need some help on the first three stages. Our four year old always needs to be carried for part of the loop if she's not in the jogging stroller.
