Team Suwaccoのふるさと信州 諏訪地方は、標高760mの諏訪湖周辺を中心にした高原の盆地です。
全国に約25,000社ある諏訪神社の総本社、諏訪大社を中心にした歴史と祭り、上諏訪や下諏訪を中心にした温泉街、信州味噌・寒天といった伝統産業、
そして数多くの美味しい清酒が諏訪にはあります。
諏訪盆地一帯は、霧ヶ峰高原（海抜約1900メートル）に降り注いだ雨が、非常に長い時間をかけて地中で浄化され、各地で湧いています。
日本酒を作るには、仕込みから製品になるまでの間に大量の水を必要としますので、水は大変重要です。
上諏訪には、甲州街道沿いに酒蔵が5軒も集中しています。昔は13軒もあったそうです。
JR上諏訪駅から歩いていける距離にありますので、ちょっと散歩してみましょう。
駅前の通りが甲州街道です。
通りを南（右手）に向かいましょう（写真参照）。
The hometown of Team Suwacco, Shinshu suwa district, is located in a plateau, the center of the basin around the Lake Suwa, It’s 760m above sea level.
There are historical places and traditional industries such as historic festivals at the one of the oldest shrine Suwa Taisha,
headquarters of Suwa Shrines in about 25,000 branch shrine in Japan, good old hot spring towns, number of delicious sake, miso and agar makers.
Suwa Basin has plenty of spring water everywhere because rain pours into Kirigamine plateau (1900 meters above sea level) is purified in the ground over a very long time.
It is very important for Japanese Sake brewing because it requires a lot of pure water on each brewing process.
Near Kamisuwa JR station, 5 breweries located on the Koshu Kaido Street. It is said there were 13 breweries before.
It takes few minutes by walking from the station Kamisuwa JR to the breweries. Why don’t you try to walk and wander around?
Head to the south on the Koshu Kaido Street is in front of the station.

STAGE-1
舞姫のラベルの文字は、同名の小説を発表した縁でやりとりされた、文豪川端康成との手紙の文字から来ていたり、
麗人が出来た頃は、アメリカではジョージ・ワシントンが初代大統領に就任した、などのエピソードがあります。
また、舞姫の建物は、歴史を感じる蔵作りです。

It is said that the character of the label “Maihime”, came from the great writer Yasunari Kawabata’s same name novel.
When “Reijin” brewery established, George Washington was inaugurated as the first president in the United States.
You may feel the history on the Maihime’s Kura storehouse style.

STAGE-2
平家物語は、平安時代に活躍した軍事貴族、平家の栄華と没落を描いた物語です。
その中の、若武者 斉藤時頼と官女「横笛」との悲恋物語は有名な話のひとつです。
この話を耳にした初代当主が「横笛」の名を後世に残すため、命名しました。
江戸時代中期に出来た「本金」は、「本当の一番（金）」という意味が込められています。

Heike Monogatari is the story of the downfall and glory of the Heike, the military aristocracy who was renowned in the Heian period (794-1185).
“Yokobue” is one of the famous story of Heike Monogatari that is about tragic love between the court ladies and young worrier, Saito Tokiyori. Yokobue brewery’s founder heard the story then give his brewery a name “Yokobue” for leave to posterity.
“Honkin”, means "very best (gold)”, has been established in the mid-Edo period.

STAGE-3
「真澄」は江戸後期から使い始めた名前で、五蔵の中では一番の歴史があります。
名前の由来となった「真澄の鏡」は、諏訪大社の神器です。上社の宝物殿に展示されています。
また、諏訪に幽閉されて人生を過ごした松平忠輝（徳川家康の六男）が座右に置いた、赤穂浪士の大高源吾が喉越しを絶賛したなどが江戸時代のエピソードとしてとして伝わっています。
また酒類総合研究所（旧 国税庁醸造試験所）は、全国の優良酵母を捜し出して酒造メーカーへ販売する事業を行なっていますが、醸造試験所が真澄の蔵で発見した酵母も今でも全国６０％の酒蔵で活躍しています。

“Masumi” is the oldest brewery in five of them. Masumi brewery has started use its name “Masumi” since the late Edo period.
“Masumi’s Mirror”, is sacred treasures of Suwa Taisha Shrine and displayed in the Treasury of Kamisha(Upper Shrine), is the origin of the name.
It is said, one of the worrier of Ako Roshi Gengo Otaka, who was kept in the side of Tadateru Matsudaira (sixth son of Tokugawa Ieyasu) who spent his life being imprisoned in Suwa, praised the Masumi’s smooth texture.
Research Institute of Alcohol Beverages (ex-laboratory brewing Internal Revenue Service) finds excellent yeasts and sells to brewing manufacturers nationwide.The yeast that has been discovered in Masumi brewery by the brewing laboratory is still arrive at 60 percent of the breweries in Japan.
