Stop! Go Back! Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

wildniagara: Sad to see this one go but after last weeks storm its evident that this one is in the flood zone and the only other nearby locations nearby are too close to the tracks. Thanks to the Niagara Parks for allowing me to place this here and to all those who took the time to visit and log it. My 3rd ever cache placement but its on to bigger better locations.

Kipchim,

Go ahead and log http://coord.info/GC47BCE. It was missing and I will be archiving it tonight but you put in the effort and reported the DNF. Thankyou.

You are looking at an amazing rail bridge that has withstood a long test of time.
Look at my low bridge sign which has been replaced time and time again because truck drivers were too bust enjoying the view to drive. Many people have illegally come to the US or Canada by way of this bridge.  You might even see my fellow vagrants or one of their wary vessels while you are listening to my story.

Here is an easy website to remember: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Railway_Bridge
This bridge was built between 1870 and 1873. On its busiest day July 10, 1916, it carried 264 trains. Had this bridge not been built the Peace Bridge may not have followed. The design took the heavy bridge wrecking ice flows into account. It was also built before tractor trailers brought a tall load down the shoreline trail and after cargo ships ceased using this stretch of river after passing through the first Welland Canal.
I have been photographed in many different ways. Can you upload something unique?
