A quick cache and dash on a narrow country lane, but nearby parking may be difficult to find!
Lydd was twinned with the French town of Étréchy in 1967. Around the time of the twinning both Lydd and Étréchy had a population of approximately 3000 people, although around the mid seventies the inhabitants of the French town nearly doubled and today the number stands at approximately 6300.
Étréchy is located about 40 miles south of Paris in the Ile-de-France area (Paris Region) of France. The town is crossed by the river Juine.
Along with Lydd, Étréchy is also twinned with Ostrach in Germany and has a program of development in Dano in Burkina Faso
Lydd has an street in it's name in the sister town: Avenue de Lydd.
Over the years many events, visits and exchanges have been held on both sides of the channel to celebrate the connection between the towns.
The cache can be found on a narrow (surprisingly busy) lane running north out of Lydd. There are no pavements or places to park at the GZ, so please be wary whilst seeking this cache.
