The White Well Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
The White Well was for generations the public water supply source for the local area. It is now the auxiliary supply for the Clashmore-Kinsalebeg region.
Water supply is now a network of inter-connected underground pipes running throughout the country. Thus, the historical water supply systems in both Clashmore and Kinsalebeg were joined-up in the 1990s by the placing of new pipework running along Licky Hill and onto the N.25.
This area is primarily a limestone region, and underground water sources make a significant contribution to the provision of clean, fresh water. This is augmented by water from the adjacent River Licky, which is a tributory of the River Blackwater.
The cache is a small camoflaged tupperware box.
