Geocache Description:

The name stems from the local Aboriginal name of "Kincumba" meaning "towards the rising sun" or "to tomorrow". A large open flat rock area at the highest plateau of Kincumba Mountain, which commands panoramic views of the region, was used by Kuringgai people as a meeting place and camp. Being the highest open position in the region, it was first to receive the morning sun as it broke over the eastern horizon Tasman Sea/Pacific Ocean, and so this area was also referred to as "towards tomorrow".

This cache was hidden whilst doing a maitenance run on my other cache further down the track. I was curious to see what the rest of the track was like.  While there isn't a view which I was hoping for when we first walked down the track, this was still a beautiful walk in the shady bush of kincumber.  The cache is hidden amongst a bunch of boulders and rocks.

Whilst on the walk back to the car we spotted a pair of red-tailed black cockatoos or Glossy Black Cockatoos flying around, pecking at the nuts in the trees. (They both look the same to me with a beautiful red underside on theit tail).

The cache name as read above comes from the Kuringgai People which inhabited this area many years ago.

GPS reception wasn't too fantastic, averaging within 5m but is should still be an easy find.

I hope you enjoy the walk or you could even use it as an excuse to dust the mountain bikes off and go for a ride.

Happy Caching!!!
