Geocache Description:

Coordinates are only Part 1 where you park at one entrance to Bringhurst Woods Park.

Geocachers sometimes stumble upon letterboxes in their search for caches so this cache is for sharing amoungst the two sports. Letterboxing is a similar sport to geocaching, but boxers use written instructions and cachers use coordinates to find the container. Cachers sign the log and boxers use a stamp to record their find in the log book. This is both a geocache and a letterbox.

A letterbox contains a rubber stamp (sometimes specially hand carved) and a log book. Anyone finding the letterbox will use the letterbox stamp to stamp their personal log book used to collect all the different letterbox stamps and than add their personal stamp into the letterbox log to show their find. This hybrid cache/letterbox will also be posted on Letterboxing.org.

If you are a geocacher, please do not take the stamp or ink pad. They are not swag. To be a geocache, it has to have co-ordinates to the final stage which are: N 39 46.451 W 075 30.866

Now on to the cache, about a 0.25 mile walk:

1 Along Carr Road you will find a parking area for Bringhurst Woods Park.
2 Walk to the stone structure for the use of picnickers.
3 From the structure, head west on the Northern Delaware Greenway, staying on the paved trail. Pass a sign marking mile 4.0.
4 Continue following the greenway in the same direction until you come to another man-made sign.
5 Here, enter the woods on a path. The path is not used often, but it's there.
6 Walk through the gap in the log and go another 12 paces (here a pace = a right and a left) bringing you to a group of large trees.
7 The trail winds a bit, but follows the small stream. Step over the two small logs and continue another 25 paces following the line of the stream.
8 The trail becomes less obvious so stop and look all around.
9 There are many downed trees. The one you seek is about another 18 paces from where you stopped. It is alone and hangs out over the Shellpot Creekbed.
10 The treasure you seek is hidden in the root end of the downed tree.
