Geocache Description:

I was out for a stroll with the geobeagles, taking some pics for my photography class, and thought this would be the perfect place to hide a cache.

I've been meaning to get more caches placed in Lawrence.  The city has a bad rep, but there really are some beautiful historic spots. Nearby is the Family Services building which hosts a program called Big Friends, Little Friends which I recently started volunteering for.  I thought this might be a nice hide to get the kids there into geocaching as well.   This cache is located in Pemberton Park, off Canal Street near the Central Bridge.  It offers a fantastic view of the city’s mills and historic dam, and opportunities for fishing and boating. The park is about five acres and will soon extend to the Great Stone Dam. Walking trails, lighting and benches make this park an attractive place to visit in daylight or at dusk. The park is dedicated to the 145 people who were killed in the Pemberton Mill disaster of 1860. The park also contains a gazebo with a number of benches, and is a truly beautiful location for a picnic.

Congrats to Froedo Bagginz on another FTF!
