A gathering to celebrate my tenth anniversary of caching.
On 20th April 2003 I found my first ever geocache. A Reserview - GCA086. It is still here (although it does need some TLC). It is actually .75 of a mile from the car park to the cache - that's how far you had to walk to find a cache in those days!
To celebrate this occasion you are invited to join me outside the cafe at Foremark Reservoir. It opens at 10.00 at weekends so the event will start at 10.10 a.m. and continue until 12.30 p.m. leaving most of the afternoon free for more caching or whatever floats your boat - there are bound to be a few sailing dinghies on the lake.
I know there a lot of other things happening that day, but would be delighted to see you for a chat and a reminisce about the old days!
If you haven't been to an event before don't be afraid, you will be made to feel welcome.
I'm hoping to hide a few caches in the grounds of the reservoir, I have outline planning permission from the head ranger, more info as and when.
The cafe does hot and cold drinks and sandwiches, but I'm not sure what there is in the way of hot food, I just had a hot sausage roll last week. If you can make it please log a 'will attend' stating how many in your party so I can warn them how many people are liable to be there. You can of course bring your own food and drink and there are a few picnic tables to sit at.
