Geocache Description:

This cache is a replacement for "Hudson Explorers" GCXAHD. It's original hiding spot disintegrated. Only vehicular entrance to Hudson Springs Park is off of Stow Road. Park only in the lot. Dogs on leash OK. Daylight hours only. Bug repellant is recommended.

Hudson High School, home of the Explorers, is just up Stow Road a short distance from this park. The Explorer name is not from the famous explorer, Henry Hudson. The Explorer name is related to Lincoln Ellsworth, an explorer of Antarctica and the North Pole, who was the son of James Ellsworth who was key in the revitalization of Hudson in the early 1900’s. Lincoln Ellsworth, is credited with being a financial supporter and participant in the first fly over of the North Pole in a dirigible in 1926.

Access to this cache is off of the main trail. Cache is located in the woods surrounding this trail. No heavy bushwhacking is required. The trail can be busy at times, stay alert for muggles. Cache is a camouflaged medium sized Lock & Lock container.
