Occupée par les Allemands à partir de 1940, Penestin fut intégrée au « Mur de l'Atlantique» qui formait une impressionnante ligne d'ouvrages fortifiés destinée à empêcher tout débarquement des Alliés.
Le blockhaus qui nous intéresse ici se situe du côté de la pointe du Halguen, là où se rejoignent les eaux douces de la Vilaine et les eaux salées de l'Atlantique. La zone a rapidement été mise sous contrôle par les troupes allemandes qui y voyaient, outre l'aspect stratégique purement militaire, un enjeu commercial non négligeable.
Au bord de la route actuelle, on devine l'un des murs d'un abri à personnel. Les deux entrées sont à la hauteur du fossé mais les pièces sont inaccessibles car inondées. Sur la droite se trouve un tobrouk, un poste individuel abritant soit une mitrailleuse soit un mortier.
Pour accéder à la cache, il est conseillé d'emprunter la route plutôt que le sentier des douaniers

Bezet door de Duitsers vanaf 1940, werd Penestin geïntegreerd in de "Atlantische muur", die een indrukwekkende lijn van vestingwerken vormt, ontworpen om de geallieerde landingen te voorkomen.
De blokhut welke ons hier interesseert, situeert zich aan de kant van het punt van Halguen, daar waar het zoet water van de Vilaine en het zout water van de Atlantische Oceaan samen komen. Het gebied werd al snel onder controle gebracht door Duitse troepen die er, in aanvulling op het zuiver militaire strategische aspect een belangrijke zakelijke kwestie in zagen.
Aan de kant van de weg kan men reeds een van de muren zien van de woning van de soldaten. Beide ingangen zijn ter hoogte van de spleet, maar de kamers zijn niet toegankelijk daar ze overstroomd zijn. Aan de rechterkant bevindt zicht een Tobruk, een individuele post voor een pistool of een mortel.
Om toegang te krijgen tot de cache, is het aangeraden de weg te gebruiken in plaats van het voetpad.

Occupied by the Germans in 1940, Penestin was integrated into the "Atlantic Wall" which formed an impressive line of fortifications designed to prevent the Allied landings.
The blockhouse which interests us here is on the side of the tip of Halguen where the freshwater of the Vilaine and the salt waters of the Atlantic join. The area was quickly brought under control by German troops who saw, in addition to a purely military strategic aspect, a significant business issue.
At the side of the road you can already notice one of the walls of the shelter of the soldiers. Both inputs are at the height of the gap, but the rooms are inaccessible because flooded. On the right is a Tobruk, a stand-alone housing for a gun or a mortar.
To access the cache, it is advisable to use the road rather than the footpath. (N47 29.669 – W002 29.748)
