To coincide with the annual geocaching CITO weekend Tuckerstribe have teamed up with Fen Park Friends who all volunteer to help manage and maintain the park, islands and water ways. The hope is to clean the islands of any litter; clear dead wood, re-bark pathways and plant new flowers to help encourage wildlife back into the area.
We will have a limited number of tools, and gloves so if anyone has their own they can bring along to help that would be most helpful. We do how ever have lots of rubbish bags to bag litter up ready to go to the dump.
We ask that suitable footwear and working clothes are worn, could all children be kept under very close supervision as banks of the fens are very slippery with the water being very deep if they were to fall in.
At 11am a short health and safety talk will take place before the hard work starts and finishing about 2pm. In the event of bad weather the event will be cut short.
We hope to see lots of old friends and new who will come along and offer help and support to get the park back to its former glory, safe for children and wildlife to live and play side by side.
The 11th Annual CITO weekend runs on April 20, 21 or 22 this year if you attend a CITO event over this weekend you will earn a 2013 CITO Souvenir for your Geocaching profile.
