Geocache Description:

Cache is located at Odell Venters Landing along Lynches River in Johnsonville. Landing has a very nice sheltered picnic area and a couple of historical markers to read.

Venter's Landing was formerly known as Witherspoon's Ferry, and it is the site where General Francis Marion received his commission to lead the Williamsburgh Militia in the Revolutionary War.

This cache is part of the Florence County Geocoin Challenge. (visit link)

Two ways to get to the cache. A short climb down or a bit longer walk around. Coordinates were averaged for 30 minutes with 2 different GPSr's on two different days. Hint will help.
