Geocache Description:

This is bigger than most smalls, but too small for a regular. You are looking for a clear tupperware, 4-snap container. I hid it in the snow, so it is also wrapped in a camo, plastic bag to keep out as much moisture as possible. The initial cache consists of 7 new USMC items: 5 various patches, 1 lapel or tie tack pin, and 1 long, window cling for a car. There is plenty of room for small travel bugs and coins, and small trade items. Please trade fairly.

Congrats and a big Ooh-Rah to ZZBOB for FTF!
NOTE (3/23/13): I have noticed all the DNF's and I was worried the cache may have been stolen until someone finally did get it. The coordinates were jumping around a bit when I hid it, so you may need to widen your search radius. Thanks to all the members notes and I'm sorry you didn't find it.

THANK YOU to "DoneWorking" for posting his coordinates...You should definitely give these a try.

My family and I frequently head down this highway from Vegas to Williams or Flagstaff to get some green and a break from the desert.  As a former Marine, I give a sound "Ooh-Rah!" every time I pass this exit for Devil Dog Road. Of all the branches of service, the Marine Corps probably has the most symbolism attached to it.  We are called "Leathernecks", "Jarheads", "W.M.s" (Women Marines, but don't call us "WAMS" as that is derogatory and may get you punched) and of course, "Devil Dogs".  All of these names were recevied for various reasons and are bandied and accepted with honor.

One of the first classes we go though during boot camp at  Parris Island (or San Diego), is a Marine Corps history class.  During the first World War (1918), there was the Battle of Belleu Woods, in France.  During the fighting, the Germans are credited with saying that the Marines fought like "Teufel-Hunden"... Devil Dogs.  That locked the term into Marine legend. Thus, the reason this road hits a chord.

The term, "Semper Fi", or the longer "Semper Fidelis", is the official USMC motto and is Latin for "Always Faithful".  Once a Marine, always a Marine. So this cache is dedicated to all my fellow Devil Dogs, past and present, at home and abroad. Be safe, and we hope you all come home soon!
