OK, the easiest way to get to the cache is to follow the Lee's Woods Trail up to the overlook. From there, continue down the trail. At a certain point, you will need to bushwhack. Depending where you begin the bushwhack, makes all the difference in the world when it comes to the terrain you will encounter.
My strong recommendation is to stick on the Lee's Woods Trail until you reach the waypoint I've listed. Once you reach this waypoint on the trail, then begin your bushwhack. There is no need to go down the nearby hill at the waypoint. Assuming you take this route, it should be a fairly simple bushwhack to the cache.
Do not start your bushwhack into the woods directly from the VSP Leesylvania Birding Adventure cache, make sure to head BACK UP to the Lee trail (red markings) and stick on it. Bushwhacking straight into the woods from the VSP cache ups the terrain to about a four.
Regardless of the route you take, a good pair of trail shoes is recommended. Older kids should be OK to take along. The cache is small in size. Could possibly fit some small travel bugs and geocoins inside, but that's about it. Permission was obtained from the land manager to place this cache. Have fun and happy caching!
Congratulations to seadog129 and Nemo Consequentia for FTF!
