Pi-dagen är en dag tillägnad talet pi och firas den 14 mars varje år. Denna cache är en hyllning till talet pi.

The Pi Day is a day dedicated to the number pi and is celebrated March 14th every year. This cache is a tribute to the number pi.

"Det är inte någon officiell högtid, men firas ändå av enskilda personer och i en del länder även på vissa skolor, och uppmärksammas av till exempel Google. Denna dag kallas för pi-dagen eftersom den i amerikanskt datumformat skrivs 3/14 och kommer från att pi ofta avrundas till 3,14. 

Dagen firades för första gången 1988 på museet Exploratorium i San Francisco. Denna dag firas, bland annat på museet ifråga, med pajer och pizzor på grund av att dessa innehåller pi (på engelska låter pi likadant som ordet för paj) och för att båda dessa maträtter är cirkelformade. Det beror även på att pi representerar förhållandet mellan en cirkels omkrets och diameter. USA:s representanthus har 12 mars 2009 beslutat att Pi-dagen skall vara nationell minnesdag."
