Regulatory Compliance & Safety is a unit of the Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development. ORCS has two major functions: to provide support and training in the regulatory requirements for the conduct of scientific research for University faculty members, researchers, students, and staff and to promote a safe learning, working and living environment. To that end, ORCS oversees programs in human research protections, animal care and use, occupational safety, biological safety, radiological safety, fire safety, laboratory safety, chemical hygiene and hazardous waste management.
