Unfortunately I have been able to find little on the history of this church.
St. Stephen's Church has a Norman nave and chancel. The north porch has a timber-framed gable which protects a Norman doorway. Above this doorway is an early sculpted stone tympanum representing the Archangel Michael fighting with a dragon. There are scallops and dogtooth on the lintel. The font bowl is a moulded octagon, which stands on a plain octagonal pedestal on a circular plinth chamfered to each face of the stem.
If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication. There is also a Church Micro Stats page found via the Bookmark list.
