Wombat Nook Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
This cache is hidden on private property, lucky for you we own the property and give you permission to enter and find this cache. We have named this cache wombat nook which is the name we call our little scrub block, due to the natural inhabitants, thus being the hairy nosed wombats.
You will be able to drive along Sperling Rd, and park somewhat near the cache location. You will see a chain gate that you should be able to easily step over to gain access to our property and then go find the cache. It isn't far off the road, easy for young kids to walk etc, but be mindful that you are on private property and so be respectful.
The hairy nosed wombat is our states fauna symbol and so is a protected species. We have owned this property for about 5 years and use it as a place to get away and take the kids camping. We first noticed the wombats and the abundance of wombat holes early on and you may see them also, they aren't hard to miss. The wombats come out at times of drought and sit on the top of their burrows. Fortunately for us we have seen quite a few, but they do run underground if you make to much noise, so be sure to be quite and you might be lucky enough to see one.
