King Boru's Treasure was placed in this area in August 12th, 2007 and contained a very minimal description:
King Boru's treasure was taken and arrived in Richmond
...along with the usual admonishments to rehide carefully and please add some foliage on top to make this harder to spot.
Sadly only 9 people found this hide, and the last 2 only found "Remnants" of the cache on August 25th.
The cache owner, PtarmiganP, moved the cache to a new location on September 4, 2007 in hopes of it surviving a bit longer. Unfortunately only 8 finders logged the cache before it was reported missing again Oct 5th, 2007. The cache was disabled.
PtarmiganP repositioned the cache to its current location in July 2008 after nearly 10 months of being disabled. The cache enjoyed a good run in that time - Location 3 seemed to be the solution to the cache getting muggled! It lasted a year and a half before the next "event"
In December 2010, PtarmiganP disabled the cache after it was reported muggled again, however the CO stopped logging into Geocaching.com right after, and was only re-enabled after many continued finds allowed a volunteer reviewer to enable the cache in the CO's absence.
In late 2012 the cache began collected a string of DNF's and was archived in 2013 based on the cache owner no longer being active, and thus unable to confirm if the cache was in place. The cache had 259 finds at that time! Of course according to the laws of the universe, this means the cache was again found 2 days later.
After contacting the last finder(thepinkertonboys), I was directed to the cache, was amazed at the great cammo, and instantly decided to republish the cache exactly as it was.
I cleaned out the dirty dinosaurs and broken penny toys, added some fresh swag, dropped in a new log book...and took what I hope are slightly better coordinates then the original
Thank you and Congratulations to Cuddlefish for making this cache the inaugural find for her new GPSr, and also her 4785th find.
For your continued enjoyment:
This is a 35 mm Film canister that has been hopefully hidden fairly well.
King Boru's treasure was taken and arrived in Richmond. This small lock & lock original contents were several medieval items.
Lots of muggles nearby but not where the cache is located.
Please rehide carefully - some foliage on top to make this harder to spot - lots of muggles come this way.
This is the third try at hiding this cache - let's hope that 3rd time is the charm.
If you like the cammo, please consider favoring this cache to honor of the excellent work of PtarmiganP.
