桂川と宇治川に挟まれた北側の背割堤の散策路の入口にマイクロキャッシュを磁石で隠しています。
A micro cache is hidden magnetically at the trailhead of a nature trail along the riverbank (Sewaritei) between Katsuragawa and Ujigawa rivers.
2つの河川が合流する際に水位差による逆流を防ぐために、合流地点を下流側に移す目的で設けられた堤防を背割堤と呼びます。 このあたりは、北から桂川、宇治川、木津川が合流する三川合流点にあたり、２つの背割堤が平行に長く設けられています。
In order to prevent backflow when two rivers of different water levels merge into one, a river bank called "Sewaritei" is constructed so as to relocate the merging point to farther downstream. This particular area is famous for merging of three rivers Katsuragawa, Ujigawa, and Kizugawa rivers where two Sewariteis run parallel along a long distance.
