Geocache Description:

This is a small, log only cache which is well hidden to protect it from muggles. The site is not wheel chair friendly and a little uphill hiking is required.

This cache is located within the Clark County Wetlands Park near the Wells trailhead. From this location you can see the Lower Narrows and Homestead Weirs which were recently installed to stop erosion in the Las Vegas Wash. Birds are plentiful in the area. When you look north, across the Wash you are looking at the site of the Bishop Ranch where a root cellar and milking barn foundation were built around 1905. They were discovered just before construction of the weirs. The root cellar was dismantled and is now on display at the Clark County Museum. More recently the land where you are standing was owned by Dawn Wells (Mary Ann of Gilligan's Island) before she sold it to Clark County Parks Department. The best access to this site is from Lake Las Vegas, passing by the City of Henderson Fire Station. You can park near by.
