RTGT #4 - Hiding From Pandas Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Ninja Reviewer: As there's been no cache to find for a long time, I'm archiving it to keep it from showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Please note that if geocaches are archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance, they are not eligible for unarchival.

Geocache Description:

UPDATE 10/20/16: TOKENS ARE EXHAUSTED; AWARD IS NO LONGER VALID. CACHES ARE STILL THERE TO BE FOUND.

In 2006, the Palmetto Conservation Foundation completed a 1.9 mile rail-to-trail conversion from a former Norfolk Southern railroad corridor. This paved urban trail came to be known as the Mary Black Foundation Rail Trail, or simply "The Rail Trail" to many local residents. The Rail Trail parallels two major roads, connects many neighborhoods to downtown Spartanburg, and is located adjacent to many restaurants, retail businesses and recreational facilities.

To earn her Silver Award in Girl Scouts, AgentGeo has partnered with Palmetto Conservation Foundation, Partners for Active Living and the City of Spartanburg to bring to you the Rail Trail Geotrail (RTGT) consisting of 12 caches along the 1.9 mile stretch of trail. By answering questions about the area around each of the 12 caches and completing the RTGT Passport you will be eligible for your very own RTGT reward token.

Geocache Information:

The cache is NOT at the listed coordinates
To get the final coordinates, follow the directions below:

Stage 1: The listed coords will take you to Mary Ann the Train, 1 of 5 train art exhibits along the Rail Trail. Examine the train art carefully. How many letters are in the artist's name inscribed on the art?

North Coordinates
Add 1 to your answer above & replace the question mark with your new answer: N 34° 56.54 ?
West Coordinates
Subtract 3 from your answer above & replace the question mark with your new answer: W 081° 54.63 ?

Final: You are looking for a small lock-n-lock container that has been hidden from muggle view at a place that is sure to have you bamboozled. Please hunt in geocaching style - wait until the coast is clear before hunting for the cache. Remember to replace the cache as found. Don't forget to answer the RTGT #4 question on your passport.

The Rail Trail GeoTrail would not have been possible without the support and encouragement of the following organizations:
The Palmetto Conservation Foundation
The Partners for Active Living
Spartanburg YMCA
Spartanburg City
