One of the great treats of Issaquah are the foothills surrounding the city, commonly referred to as the Issaquah Alps, a name given to the foothills in 1976 by hiking guide author, conservationist and Cougar Mountain resident Harvey Manning.
When hiking on the Issaquah Alps, even for day hikes, you need to go out prepared. Which essential items should you be bringing on your hike? And do you know how to use those items, assuming your phone and GPS have no signal or have no batteries left?
To prepare for my upcoming Issaquah Alps day-hikes I bought a number of items. Below is the receipt for my entire purchase, which shows that I bought seventy items, including a number of cool geocaching items and TOTTs. I earned rewards points but I declined the offer for the credit card. It is for you to take a close look at the receipt and to determine what the final location of the cache is. Math is not required, however a classic search on the world wide web or a peek into your backpack may be useful.
The Honor of the FTF WOOT goes to Tobias & Petronella!!!
