Geocache Description:

The Great Locomotive Chase occurred April 12, 1862 when a group of Union Soldiers and volunteers overtook The General at Big Shanty (now Kennesaw), taking it north and severing vital Confederate supply and communication lines.

Please note that hunting this cache does take you nearby a railroad track and that caution should be used at all times. It is not necessary to go near the tracks or to cross over them to find this one ( a safe method for getting from one side to another is provided ).

The cache is not at posted coords. To find this cache you'll need to recon the nearby area. There are signs with details about the Great Locomotive Chase including the many trains that were involved in the attempt to chase down The General.

Clue 1: Approximately how far away (in miles) from Big Shanty was "The Texas" at Tunnel Hill?
Clue 2: What was commonly used to transport track crews and maintenance supplies?
Clue 3: In a steam engine, what is surrounds the "Fire box"?

The Cache is placed on the clue3 on the nearby clue2. About clue1 feet away from the tracks.

Good luck!
