Captain's Convention Series
The novel "Moby Dick", written by Herman Melville in 1851, tells of the adventures of a wandering sailor called Ishmael and his voyage on the whale ship, Peguod, commanded by Captain Ahab. Ishmael soon learns that Captain Ahab's single-minded purpose during the whole of this voyage is to find and kill Moby Dick, a ferocious white sperm whale, that had previously destroyed his boat and bitten off his leg. Captain Ahab is driven by a monomaniacal desire for revenge, and in his obsession to kill the whale, dooms all of the crew including himself when a harpoon line is caught around his neck, and he is dragged to his death by the whale.
