This is a quick, fun, drive-up cache. We were inspired to hide it here by the name of the road. (Not Rattlesnake Bar! Although Saint Patrick is credited for getting all the snakes out of Ireland.) No, you don't have to find it on Saint Patty's Day, but it would be very cool if you did! You may take a tattoo. Enjoy the wearing of the green.
The actual 'Blarney Stone" is a piece of 'bluestone' built into the wall or 'battlements' of Blarney Castle in Ireland. The tem 'bluestone' is a commercial or cultural term for dimensioned building stone. As a geologist one may think that Paleopal would know what type of rock the actual "Blarney Stone" is. But, alas, the information is not readily available. Kissing the Blarney Stone is not as simple as it may sound. In order to accomplish the feat one must risk life and limb in the attempt. First, you must climb to the castle's peak, bend over the edge backwards while someone you trust (very important) holds your ankles. Then press your lips against a stone that countless others have also kissed. According to legend, whoever kisses the Blarney Stone is gifted with eloquence, persuasiveness and skill at flattery. According to Jonh O'conner Power, "Blarney is something more than mere falttery. It is flattery sweetened by humour and flavoured by wit".
