Oh, Snap! Letterbox Hybrid

This cache has been archived.

Fetban: Oh, Snap! is right! The landscape has changed so much, likely due to occasional floods, that I couldn't even get to GZ today! I could SEE GZ from the bridge, but I could not safely get down there, without maybe repelling equipment! So, we shall bid farewell to this cache, and I'll determine if a new one could go nearby. Thanks to everyone who tried to find it!

Geocache Description:

Most Geocachers have been muggled from time to time.  Suddenly, the search is abandoned, and the creative distractions, excuses, or explanations follow.  Because I use a GPS application on my mobile phone, if I see anyone approaching me, my default behavior is to pretend to take photographs, hence the name of this Letterbox Hybrid.

The coordinates listed are for the actual location of the hide.

From the Putnam County Courthouse, travel north on US 231, and East on Shadowlawn. *If you cross the Railroad Tracks on US 231, you have gone too far.*

Travel East on Shawdowlawn. Turn North onto Arlington Street at the second Stop sign.

In a few blocks Arlington Street will turn toward the East as it becomes Albin Pond Road. Pay Attention! You want to turn North onto Hauck Road, as Arlington turns into Albin Pond Road.

Continue winding along Hauck Road, passing GC2CQ38, going under one railroad track, crossing a second railroad track, and then driving a little further North toward the new bridge that goes across Big Walnut Creek.

***At the time this cache was published, the satellite image map still showed the old iron bridge, quite far from Ground Zero. I assure you the coordinates are accurate and near the new bridge.***

Park safely to the East side of the road as you approach the bridge. Walk carefully toward Ground Zero. Your GPS should put you right on top of the find. PLEASE WATCH FOR MUGGLES AND PRETEND TO BE ENJOYING THE NEWNESS OF THE BRIDGE AND THE BEAUTY OF THE CREEK.

I hope that you enjoy this cache. Please do NOT take the rubber stamp and ink, as it is part of the letterboxing experience. If you look carefully at the center of the rubber stamp, you will see a bonus smiley face!

Return the cache to it's hiding place, exactly as you found it.

***CONGRATULATIONS TO LUCKY CHAVEZ ON THE FTF!!! It's fun that your 200th FTF was this LBH! :-) ***
