Geocache Description:

Vernal Equinox AKA Spring Equinox.  (Just to clarify things for those who may wonder if they found the correct cache I believe I may have written Spring Equinox on the log book and cache in all the flurry of activity going on the weekend I placed it.  I'm sorry for any confusion.)

Equinox comes from the Latin words aequus meaning equal and nox meaning night because on this date day and night are about equal in length.   An equinox happens twice a year.  It is the date the tilt of the earth's axis is neither inclined towards nor away from the sun.  In the northern hemisphere the vernal equinox or beginning of spring is March 20th.

I've added a few pictures of the wild flowers I encountered on the way to place the cache.  Please tread lightly to avoid trampling these beauties.

There are several ways up the hill to the cache.  I walked up "the wash".  There are also several bike paths nearby.
