Geocache Description:

This is one of 6 caches placed in conjunction with the 2013 Nature Coast Birding and Wildlife Festival. Each cache is placed to honor one of Florida's Fabulous Birds and to take you out to some great wildlife viewing areas in Pasco, Hernando and Citrus Counties.
This one is for the Sandhill Crane!

Be sure to visit the other caches at Crews Lake while you are here. Its a beautiful park with lots of amenities, and lots of birdwatching opportunities. Admission to the park is $2 per car, well worth your money. Park is only open daylight hours. As always be careful out there!

The Sandhill Crane, a large, long legged bird is often seen along roadsides as well as nesting in areas such as this. The FL nesting population do not migrate, but stay all year round.

Those completing the 6 birding caches in this series and returning proof (6 different bird 'calling cards') to Chinsegut Nature Center 23212 Lake Lindsey Rd 34601(N 28 37.861 W 082 21.227) will receive a goody bag with local coupons, wildlife booklets, trackable or nano. One per family please, and call 754-6722 for office hours.
!!! CONGRATS to cusmith for FTF !!!
