Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
This park used to be an old Homestead owned by the Kidston family. The area has
been a very popular visiting site for Nova Scotians for over 150 years because of
the astounding stone perched atop the hill near Kidston Lake. This stone, the
Rocking Stone, is an enormous glacial erratic which still sits on the log where
it was deposited. Jumping on the log to actually rock the stone provides amusement to
people of all ages.
The network of trails to the rock take visitors through mixed woods and patches of blueberry bushes. Allow 2 hours to fully explore the region. The beach is supervised for swimming in the summertime and is popular with skaters in the winter. The trails are heavily used by ATV's ,mountain bikes & hikers with water holes to circumvent when wet. The back barrens have a major bog that the trails run through ( proper foot wear is a must)
