Geocache Description:

Haverfordwest castle may not be as smart as Pembroke or Manobier, but it still stands tall, if a little crumbly, above the town. It dates from the 12th century and the site was possibly used as a fort before then. It was ordered to be demolished during the civil war, but in the 18th century it was used as a prison. Now you can walk around the grounds and admire the views of Haverfordwest, and visit the town museum inside. The Museum is open March- October and admission is £1, children free. The castle grounds are free to walk around all year.

The castle is a short, steep walk from the town and parking is not really available in the narrow streets. You can park in the Castle Lake car park. You can walk there from the High Street through the car park, from Castle Square past the Spanish deli, or from Perrots Roads past St Martains church.
