Geocache Description:

"On-Belay". "Belay-On". "Climbing". "Climb-on". While you won't here this dialog here, this is the first in a series of caches that highlight San Diego's Climbing areas. BEWARE- the pictures on this site will spoil the location. Logs that contain too much beta will be encrypted/ deleted. Have fun!!!!- Bianca

THIS CACHE HAS BEEN UPDATED AS OF 10/13/02. The cache is a plastic cashew container from Costco. It has a green top with a US Flag on top and the typical geocaching.com note taped on the inside facing out. This cache is at an "Outdoor Gym". If you are familiar with San Diego and rock climb and/or boulder, you will know this area very well. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR 4WD ON THESE TRAILS, YOU WILL BE FINED HEAVILY! The cache is under A VERY LARGE chaparal tree and is located roughly 50 yards from the OLD SITE (if you have those coords). I have hidden the cache at the base of the tree (LOOK REALLY GOOD AND REPLACE EXACTLY AS YOU FOUND). This will be a great outing for friends and family. In the summer, the area can get a bit warm (into the 90's) so either come early in the morning or late in the afternoon. Snakes are abound so watch where you place those hands and feet. If you like to climb, bring your favorite shoes for good edging and mantle problems, a small length of rope and pro will be needed on the more difficult areas. Here is a link to BETA on some of the climbs: http://www.giantsoftware.com/sdcc/free_guides/santee.pdf
