Today's date will the be the last sequential calendar date (the way we write it in the U.S. anyway) for eighty-eight years and twenty-one days, until the next one occurs on 1/2/3 or 01/02/2103. The rest of the world used up their last sequential date last year on the 11th of December, 2013, which looks odd to us the way we write it, but logically it is written with the day/month/year, so 11/12/13 was the last truly sequential day. The Europeans will just have to wait another thirty days, until the first day of the second month of the third year of the 22nd century. Writing the date as day/month/year really is more logical if you think about it but we can't do that since we'd just get too confused. Are you confused yet? Let's Celebrate!
Kidding! Actually, as it was pointed out during the event, the next sequential dates will be 1/2/34 (the second of January and the first of February of 2034). The event title has been slightly adjusted for correctness.
The event date and time is 12.13.14 from 15:16 to 17:18.
(That's Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 3:16pm to 5:18pm, but it just doesn't flow when written that way.)
Since this day is Legen... wait for it... dary, the event will be held at the Upland Legends, 1645 N. Mountain Ave. north of Baseline/16th St.
If the will attends outgrow the space somehow, the event will be moved to a different venue.
