This cache is called "beautiful butterfly," and if you decide to seek it you will learn why.
Specifically, it refers to a monarch butterfly.
Did you know that the monarch butterflies migrate? They are the only insect to migrate up to 2,500 miles to get out of the cold weather and hibernate. But not all monarch butterflies migrate; only the fourth generation of monarchs migrate each year because the first three generations die after about six weeks from escaping their cocoons.
Monarch butterflies go through four generations each year, in a sort of pass-the-baton relay race: beginning in the mountains of northern Mexico, the first three generations hatch from their cocoon state (also known as the pupa or chrysalis state) and live for up to six weeks.
At each stage, they fly further north, mate & lay eggs before dying. But the fourth generation continues to live on for up to six or eight months - they get to fly allll the wayyyy back to Mexico, hibernate, and then start a new first generation in the spring time.
So these "hermosas mariposas" are definitely binational travelers.
We humans get to live our lives, but then we too pass the baton to the next generation. There is a gatekeeper near GZ, a very appropriate symbol.
