This is a short hike (.65 miles one way) to a small cache at the Ochoco Viewpoint Wayside.
Please use the Ochoco Viewpoint parking area to access this cache. Trying to come in from the west is not possible due to private property. It will be about 3/4 of a mile one way to the cache on trails and old roads. About 1/3 of the hike is uphill, 1/3 downhill, and 1/3 on the level. Kids will have no trouble and most of the swag is for kids. There are no fences to cross, if you cross one you are probably on private property. Please re-cover the container well as many locals use this area for walking. Where the trail starts, just off the parking area, there are a lot of rocks to what out for, but once you get down the trail a short ways it is much better. There are a few other caches in the area, so check them out, and enjoy the view of Prineville and the Crooked River valley.
