Geocache Description:

Welcome to the pony express trail.  this will take you on a trip along the pony express trail. Enjoy the trail.
The cache trail highlights the trail stops from the Start in Missouri to the end in California.

Remember to get clear of the roadway, some of the early ones that may be tricky, and may require a drop-off and a walk to grab. Know when to skip some and come back to them later.
If you have the chance pick up some trash on your way, help keep the route clean for those that come along later. Plus keeping the trash down means a lower chance of a clean up crew carrying your caches off.

A few more notes. There is no gas for miles, many miles, lots and lots of miles.
From cache #127 and #128 where you leave the highway you enter a dirt packed road. It is a good highway type road when dry. Driving 45mph is no problem, and a car can make it far along the trail without any issues. If you are looking for gas you need to go 25 miles north to Stockton, 35 miles east to Lehi, 35 miles to Eureka, and 172 west to Wendover.
Just south caches#127-128 is Ferron. There is a tiny store there (not Sunday) Just be aware before you head out that you will need enough gas, water, food for your trip.
There is snow in the winter, and pulling to the side of the road can cause you to sink if muddy, if there have been rains or after the winter melt. Summer sun can hit 110°. At the end of the trail there are campsites (at Simpson Springs) if you wish to stay overnight. Water but not for drinking and many times there will not be a visitor for some time. Cell Phones are spotty. But if you get to Simpson Springs at the right times of the year you can watch the artillery bomb the targets a few miles away. (you are on the edge of the military range).
