Geocache Description:

This is a two stage multi cache. For the first stage you are seeking a prominent marker with a plaque on it, gather information from the plaque and you will be off for the final. This park is only open Dawn to Sunset and no dogs are allowed.

The final is located at N43 04.ABC W085 27.XYZ you will know your answer has a very good chance of being correct if your 6 digit Checksum is 25. (A+B+C+X+Y+Z = 25)

A = # of letters in the first name of the donor that made a substantial contribution for this land acquisition by the county for a park
B = # of letters in the name of who the property passed to; that in turn sold it to Kent county
C = Last digit in the year Indian Joe Died 198C

X = number of letters in the third type of land listed that was protected by Indian Joe here. note it is the singular version of this, not the plural version as listed..... If you take the literal number of letters you need to subtract "1"; the "s" from your count (Thanks TJ Post for helping the accountant with his math)
Y = number of letters in Indian Joe's Last name minus the number of letters in the name of the Lake
Z = Last digit in the number of years that Indian Joe protected this land more than

Reminder the trail is one way. If you see a sign that says trail ends in 500 feet it is true. There is a turnstyle that will prevent you from continuing that direction.

The Mackinac Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Straits of Mackinac to connect the non-contiguous Upper and Lower peninsulas of Michigan. Opened in 1957, the bridge (familiarly known as "Big Mac" and "Mighty Mac") is the third longest in total suspension in the world and the longest suspension bridge between anchorages in the Western hemisphere. The Mackinac Bridge carries Interstate 75 and the Lakes Michigan and Huron components of the Great Lakes Circle Tours across the straits and connects the city of St. Ignace on the north end with the village of Mackinaw City on the south. Envisioned since the 1880s, the bridge was completed in 1957 only after many decades of struggles to begin construction.

The bridge opened on November 1, 1957, ending decades of the two peninsulas being solely linked by ferries. A year later, the bridge was formally dedicated as the "world's longest suspension bridge between anchorages." Every Labor Day, two of the lanes of the bridge are closed to traffic and open to walkers for the Mackinac Bridge Walk. Painting of the bridge takes seven years, and when painting of the bridge is complete, it begins again. The bridge celebrated its 150 millionth vehicle crossing on September 6, 2009.
