Geocache Description:

A 1.5 mile climb to a nice overlook of Millerton Lake.

One of the oldest geocaches in the area, placed on 4/01/2002 by Natgild addopted and replaced by Benny on 5/03/2021.

There is a parking area near the trailhead. A day-use park may be closed but you can park just outside. The trail starts at N37° 02.3015 W119° 38.8843. You can follow a well defined trail about 2/3's of the way to the cache. The rest is poorly defined trail or scrambling. There is a little less than 1000' of vertical feet elevation gain. Therefore, this is not a good one for mid day in the summer. Although, my great dane made it to the cache, I would not recommend pets or very small children. In spring the wildflowers are beautiful.

Please log in,take a picture of yourselves with the cache camera, and enjoy the view.

Warning!! Although I have not seen any, I'm sure there are rattlesnakes in the area, so keep your eyes open. The "active season" for rattlesnakes is April thru September. There is poison oak, but it can be avoided. If you don't know what it looks like, there is a picture attached to this page. Remember, "Leaves of Three, Let Them Be !!"
