The 11th in a series set out around this lovely English parish. The walk is just over 3 miles and passes through fields and lanes. It is suitable for families although there are several stiles - buggies probably not suitable. Parking is in the street near the church. The route passes through several horse paddocks - the horses ignore you, but please keep the geohounds on a lead through here.
This green lane is actually called Green Lane. Green lanes are unsurfaced routes, which often become greener as infrequent use allow more vegetation to colonise the surface. Many green lanes are ancient routes that have existed for millennia, such as drovers' roads and ancient trackways. There are many more of these to be found in Essex.
