Geocache Description:

This cache a small container is hidden on the roadside close to the site of this impressive burial mound.

Ráth Beag or ‘little fort’ is actually an Iron Age ring-barrow. The mound has several tiers building up to the top where there is a small central cairn. The diameter of the mound in total is 36m.

As from most of the nearby sites you can clearly see the main mound Ráth Cruachan to the South East from here.

It’s possible to park on the road side there.
There are a couple of very interesting sites within walking distance. Although these are on private property they are both close to the roadside. Rathnadarve (Ráth na dTarbh or fort of the Bulls) & Rathmore
