Why the title "A Kings Retreat?"
The book by Trevor Antill "The Monarchs Way" describes the route King Charles the Second was meant to have taken following the Battle of Worcester in 1651, he allegedly passed through Chaddesley Corbett on his way to Shoreham on Sea. He was travelling with a member of the Giffard family who was Roman Catholic and had experience of hiding Priests. Harvington Hall has a collection of Priestholes within it and as Harvington is close to Chaddesley then he may have stayed here or at least it would have been a contingency plan for him.No priests were ever found at Harvington, indeed there might still be Priestholes to discover. Once you have found the Cache then visit the Hall (Web link above) and look around the Village.
Try to avoid doing this cache at Bank Holiday times as they tend to have re-enactment groups camped by the hall. The hall can also get busy at the weekends but with a little bit of stealth you should be ok. AS THERE MAY BE NETTLES TAKE GLOVES AND WEAR LONG SLEEVES.
